Don't ever put your trust in humans

It's disappointing to see inspirational people (who've you looked up to in the past) having their dark secrets exposed (even Christian political leaders). Martin Luther King, Jr. (not to be confused with Martin Luther who was also a sexual degenerate) was a Baptist preacher, besides being a civil rights activist. However, he had unresolved spiritual problems even before dying, as evidenced by the article below.
Many people today (whether politicians or Christian leaders) can give great speeches, be inspiring, and do great things politically, however no one really knows their true spiritual condition. It shows that Jesus Christ is the only role model to look at and be able to fully trust. No one else comes close to Him. It's a lesson for the future also, as the Antichrist will be a deceptive messianic/charismatic figure who will capture the hearts of many.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NLT):
"This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans,
    who rely on human strength
and turn their hearts away from the Lord.
6 They are like stunted shrubs in the desert,
with no hope for the future.
They will live in the barren wilderness,
    in an uninhabited salty land.
7 “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit."

A quote from an article (Martin Luther King Cheated On His Wife & Other Lesser-Known Facts About The Civil Rights Leader For MLK Day):
"King even spent the last night of his life with a woman who was not his wife. In the chaos outside the Lorraine Motel, his advisers told the young woman to stay out of the ambulance to avoid tarnishing his legacy."

A quote by MLK, Jr. (Martin Luther King, Jr.)-
"He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."

Perhaps, MLK, Jr. was referring to civil injustices when he made that quote. However, he himself failed to uphold that (addressing evil) in regards to his own life, especially sexual immorality.
It's not just MLK, Jr., there have been other inspirational leaders who've made great speeches and quotes, but their lives didn't reflect true godliness, and sadly, now many of them look like hypocrites.

Matthew Henry had an interesting commentary regarding Malachi chapter 2- which applies to modern preachers.
"Here is a record of the judgments God had brought upon these priests for their profaneness, and their profanation of holy things. 1. They had lost their comfort (v. 2): I have already cursed your blessings. They had not the comfort of their work, which is the satisfaction of doing good; for the blessings with which they, as priests, blessed the people, God was so far from saying Amen to that he turned them into curses, as he did Balaam's curses into blessings. That profane people should not have the favour of receiving God's blessings, nor those profane priests the honour of conferring and conveying them, but both should lie under the tokens of his wrath. Nor had they the comfort of their wages, for the blessings with which God blessed them were turned into a curse to them by their abuse of them; they could not receive them as the gifts of his favour when they had made themselves so obnoxious to his displeasure by not laying to heart the reproofs given them. 2. They had lost their credit (v. 9): Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people. While they glorified God he dignified them and supported their reputation, and a great interest they had in the love and esteem of the people while they did their duty and walked with God in peace and equity; every one had a value and veneration for them; they were truly styled the reverend, the priests; but when they forsook the ways of God, and corrupted the covenant of Levi, they thereby made themselves not only mean, but vile, in the eyes even of the common people, who, the more they honoured the order, the more they hated the men that were a dishonour to it. Their conduct, their misconduct, had a direct tendency to this, and God owns his hand in it, and will have it looked upon as a just judgment of his upon them, and not only produced by their sin but answering to it; they put dishonour upon God, and made his table and the fruit thereof contemptible (ch. i. 12), and therefore God justly put dishonour upon them and made them contemptible; they exposed themselves, and therefore God exposed them. Note, As sin is a reproach to any people, so especially to priests; there is not a more despicable animal upon the face of the earth than a profane, wicked, scandalous minister."

Hypocritical/sociopathic preachers (who pervert the grace of God and turn it into a license to sin) are one of the biggest problems for churches today.

All sociopaths will get what they deserve in the future

Recently, I've been seeing a celebrity having a hard time in his own life. He's clearly a sociopath and people have hated him for a long time. I didn't agree with his sociopathic behavior and tactics, but I always thought perhaps some good might still be in him. Nevertheless, things are falling apart in his own life despite the success he's had in the past. Now people are trolling him and enjoying seeing his fall from glory. I hope he learns his lesson, repents, and becomes a better person so that God will lift him up in due time. However, if he chooses to continue to indulge in his sociopathic behavior, he invites his own destruction. This is how Satan blinds people today (he blinds them through their success to make them think that as long as they have success, it's ok to be evil) . He is the ultimate sociopath. With human sociopaths, change is still possible, even though it's a difficult and rare thing for them to change. However, with Satan, he will never …

Brethren vs Pentecostal debate (Snehasamvadham)

Couple of months back, various Malayalee Brethren and Pentecostal Bible teachers came together to have a debate regarding various topics. Refer to the following links:

(1). Pentacost-Brethren Snehasamvadham- Dallas 2016

(2).Post-debate thoughts by Pr. Shibu Peediakal and Br. Ashish Jacob

(3).Pr. Shibu Peediakal refuting Brethren Assembly Preachers again

One of the topics that Pastor Shibu has addressed in various clips on his Youtube channel is regarding speaking in tongues (which of course, the Brethren teach that this gift has ceased with the early Church). Personally, I don't believe that the gift of tongues has ceased. Will all believers speak in tongues to demonstrate they have been baptized by the Holy Ghost? It's a very controversial question and subject. From studying Scripture, I personally haven't been convinced that speaking in tongues is a mandatory requirement for all believers. Each has a different gift that the Holy Ghost gives them in order to minister to o…

Who are no longer under condemnation to eternal damnation?

I’ve come across hypocritical gossips among carnal Christians (especially in my experiences with Malayalee Brethren) who point to verses like Romans 8:1, and then misquote and misinterpret it to promote carnality and licentiousness. That’s what is really funny. Brethren gossips contradict themselves and make fools out of themselves. Why gossip and bully others when they themselves believe and preach that God will not condemn or punish any Christian, no matter what sins they do? When you confront such people regarding their evil and hypocritical behavior, they will throw Romans 8:1 in your face and say that God will not punish them for their evil behavior. If you respond with verses which warn about God’s punishment to even Christians (ex. Galatians 6:7-10; Revelation chapters 2-3, etc.), they will continue to take you around in circles by falling back on their doctrines (penal substitutionary atonement, imputed righteousness, unconditional election, unconditional eternal security/name…
