A quote from a CNET article (Google exec: Humans will be hybrids by 2030):
"Kurzweil, Google's director of engineering, said of the year 2030: "Our thinking then will be a hybrid of biological and nonbiological thinking."
I am sure that even today you have been occasionally guilty of nonbiological thinking. However, this particular dry dream of Kurzweil's involves a merger between our brains and the digital cloud.
You might think this more of a takeover. For Kurzweil, however, this is simply progress: "In my view, that's the nature of being human. We transcend our limitations." (end quote)
A quote from another CNET article (Google exec: With robots in our brains, we'll be godlike):
"Kurzweil insists, though, that this is the next natural phase of our existence.
"Evolution creates structures and patterns that over time are more complicated, more knowledgeable, more intelligent, more creative, more capable of expressing higher sentiments like being loving," he said. "So it's moving in the direction that God has been described as having -- these qualities without limit."
Yes, we are becoming gods.
"Evolution is a spiritual process and makes us more godlike," was Kurzweil's conclusion." (end quote)
Isaiah 14:13-15 (NLT):
"For you said to yourself,
‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars.
I will preside on the mountain of the gods
far away in the north.
14 I will climb to the highest heavens
and be like the Most High.’
15 Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead,
down to its lowest depths."
Some people think that a nanobot/chip will make them more intelligent, creative and loving (basically more godlike) by tapping into the internet directly from your brain. Many people today don't realize that God's Spirit in us is what accomplishes all those things, not some man made nanobot/chip (which can potentially be used to control your mind). Tap into God instead of the internet to become more godly.
